When it comes to my hair I don't tend to experiment a lot. For the past year I've stuck to what I love or taken recommendations from my hairstylist (and BFF) Anna Lee but there have also been times when I've been in a bind or something has caught my eye. That is how I've grabbed something new and I found myself using a round of new products.

Living Proof Perfect Hair Day 5 in 1 Styling Treatment
I've actually been using this product for a long time and I don't believe I've ever mentioned it. I believe this is my second or third bottle but I've found it to be a good alternative for the WEN Styling Creme that you may have seen me use in some of my hair tutorials. I take about a nickel-sized amount in the palm of my hand and run it through the mid-lengths and ends of lightly towel dried hair. Any remaining product I rake through the rest of my hair with my fingers and I've found that by doing this right out of the shower, it prevents my hair from getting overly frizzy which is great for those days when I just want to let my waves air dry. If I choose to do a blow out, this also helps provide smoothness and body.

Pantene Pro-V Powerful Body Boost Spray
Full disclosure, I was sent a few Pantene products to try and post on Instagram but I am not being paid to mention it on my blog. Everything else I'm talking about was purchased with my own money but as this is a post on 5 products I'm currently using, I thought I'd include it because I don't hate it. I've been trying it out as a volumzing spray and I think it works well. If you're not into mousse, seeking something that could provide lightweight volume, this may be a good drugstore option. If I decide to go for a blow out, after applying the PHD I section areas around the crown of my head and spray this at the roots. I like the scent of it, it takes me back to when I'd use their shampoo and conditioner back in high school. I haven't tried applying this and letting my hair air dry yet so I don't know how much boost it will give to my super thick heavy hair in its natural state, but for blow outs it works well and if you have fine hair I'd imagine this could be a good option.

Davines Replumping Hair Filler Superactive
I got a sample of this at some point in the past and it sat in a box for ages. It took a few months but one day when I was shopping my stash I came across it again and decided to give it a shot. As someone who has naturally coarse, color treated hair, anything that says it can rehydrate I'm willing to try. This contains hyaluronic acid and honestly I'd never really thought of it being used on hair (if you're like me, typically you think of it being used to rehydrate your skin) and I was pleasantly surprised after the first use. This might also be a strange thing to say but the way it sprays is very pleasing! It distributed a fine, even mist of product (focusing mostly towards the ends of my hair) and it felt satisfying. I don't know if that's the case for the full sized bottles and I know it's sometimes funny to talk about how pleasing the way a product is dispensed, but it's something I noticed right away. Again I sprayed this on mostly wet hair before I started my blow dry routine and the result was super smooth with great body. The only cons I would say are if you're not crazy about a slightly musky scent, this won't be for you. I didn't notice it lingering after my blow out but definitely at application. I personally love it but I know some people can be funny about scents. Also if you over do it or spray it on mostly dry/damp hair, you risk a more stiff feel.

Oribe Gold Lust Nourishing Hair Oil
There isn't much to say here because most of you probably know that I'm a massive fan of Oribe. I love their Surfcomber Mousse as well as their Dry Texturizing Spray so why wouldn't I also love this Nourishing Hair Oil. Hair oils are usually the last step in any hair styling routine I'm doing because I love the boost of shine. All it takes is a pump or two in wet or dry hair to provide that added sheen and help tame frizz. I've found it to work beautifully either way and of course has the signature Oribe smell which I love.

Bumble & Bumble Prêt-a-powder
I've been trying to find a new dry shampoo that doesn't come in an aerosol can. I know Oscar Blandi has one which I've tried but I can't find that one so I've been using this one by Bumble & Bumble. No real rocket science here, if you're rocking day 2-3 hair just part it, shake it and work it through to absorb the oils. I also like using it on day 1 sometimes to give some extra texture. For this you can apply it directly to the hair but I usually put some into the palms of my hands, rub them together then work it through the mid lengths. Think texturizing spray without the spray.

So that does it for the 5 Hair Styling Products I'm currently using! What are you currently loving for your hair?
